Ms. Chanda Latorria Brooks Hammonds, 43, of 596 Red Banks Road, was born January 4, 1983 and departed this life on Saturday, August 15, 2026. She was preceded in death by her father: Mr. David James Brooks and a sister: Miss Tasha Lynn Brooks.
Ms. Chanda is survived by her mother: Mrs. Alice Dial Brooks; two sons: Mr. Shane J. Allen and Master Peyton E. Hammonds; two brothers: Mr. Jamie Brooks(Charo) and Mr. Robby Locklear(Heather); nieces and nephews: Dakota O. Brooks(Kay), Kristen N. Scott(Braydon), Hunter I. Brooks(Alexandra), Jaxon Allie Brooks, Eden F. Brooks, Emelia H. Brooks, Kinley R. Locklear and Kelly R. Locklear; great nieces and nephews: Teagan L. Brooks, Talson D. Brooks, Braxion T. Scott, Oaklyn R. Scott, McKeighnon Brooks, McKaizleigh Brooks and Tylon Chavis; Special Aunt: Naomi R. Dial; two special cousins: Mr. Tyler E. Dial(Megan) and Mr. Joseph E. Dial(Sonia); special friends: Ms. Beth L. Swett and Mr. Chris Swett; and a host of relatives and friends.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Bakers Chapel Baptist Church with the Revs: Lindbergh Chavis and Dana Goins officiating. Burial will follow in the Bakers Chapel Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
