MRS. EDITH FAYE STRICKLAND

     Mrs. Edith F. Strickland, 87, of 505 North Jones Street Pembroke, NC, was born February 20, 1939 and went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 17, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.

     Mrs. Edith was preceded in death by her husband: Mr. Reggle Strickland, Sr.; a son: Mr. Derwin Strickland; a daughter: Ms. Delilah Locklear; a granddaughter: Erica Locklear; parents: Mr. Reedy and Mrs. Zelma Lowery; brothers: Mr. Johnson Lowery, Mr. Marlon Lowry and Mr. Curlin Lowry; sisters: Mrs. Lelia Jacobs and Mrs. Diane Bullard.

     Mrs. Edith served 30+ years as a Teacher with the Public Schools of Robeson County. Her compassion and love for her children will be remembered for years to come. She was also a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her greatest joys were spending time, especially holidays, with her family and cooking their favorite red velvet cake.

     She is survived by her son: Mr. Reggle Strickland Jr. (Darbie) of Pembroke; daughter: Mrs. Denise Cooper (Jeff) of Laurinburg; daughter-in-law: Teresa Strickland of Pembroke; brothers: Mr. Robin Lowery (Dale) and Mr. Reedy Lowery (Brenda) of Pembroke; sister: Mrs. Sheila Hunt (Bennie) of Lumberton; grandchildren: Billy (Natula), Jeffery (Glenda), Derwin Jr, Dustin (Ashley), Mariah (Sean), McKinley (Carleigh), and Lauren (Nick); 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who loved her dearly. Special thanks to Ms. Judy Morgan (Momma’s Angel), Ms. Kimberly McCallum, Ms. Donna Ross, Mrs. Victoria Graham and Hospice Caretakers.

     The funeral will be 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Mt. Airy Baptist Church with the Revs: Kelvin Locklear and Dr. Michael Cummings officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Airy Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
