Mrs. Ramona Sue Clark Lacy, 68, of Pembroke, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026. She was born on April 13, 1958, in Maxton to the late: Mr. Josephus Locklear and Mrs. Joyce Demery Locklear. She grew up in a loving home and was also blessed with the guidance and care of her stepmother: Mrs. Joyce Bullard Locklear. She was also preceded in death by a brother: Michael Locklear.
Driven by a lifelong passion for learning and helping others, Ramona earned her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She dedicated herself to her community, serving faithfully as an educator for several years, shaping and inspiring the minds of countless students.
Beyond her professional life, Ramona was a deeply creative soul. She had a profound love for the arts and spent much of her free time drawing and painting. Her artwork was a true reflection of her vibrant spirit, and she found immense joy in creating beautiful things to share with the world.
She is survived by her two loving daughters: Adrenia and Margaret; her cherished son: Michael, and her husband: Martin Lacy; brother: Joseph Kent Locklear; sisters: Vanessa Jacobs and Jennifer Carol Locklear; grandchildren: Jacob Clark, Jayla Clark Josiah Clark and Madeline Clark Chaparro; a host of family, friends, and former students who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. While we grieve our loss, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. 2 Timothy 4:7: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
A service to celebrate Ramona’s life and legacy will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026, 11:00AM at Beulah Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. All who knew and loved her are invited to gather to remember a beloved mother, educator, and artist.
