Mrs. Shirley Sampson Clark, 90, of 1635 Sampson Road, Rowland, NC, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at Scotland Memorial Hospital. She was born October 6, 1935 in Robeson County to the late Mrs. Agnes Sampson Spaulding. She was preceded in death by her Husband of 33 years: Mr. Arnold Clark; her brother: Mr. Fennon Sampson and great-grandson: Landon Clark.
Mrs. Shirley was a great cook and seamstress and she worked in a factory for years sewing where they made shirts. She was a faithful member of Gospel Tabernacle Baptist Church for over 60 years and was a devoted wife, mother and granny. She will be deeply missed by all that loved her.
She leaves behind cherished memories to her two daughters: Mrs. Trena Locklear(Johnnie) of Lumberton and Mrs. Shelia Cummings(Conella) of Rowland; two sons: Mr. Wayne Clark(Marilyn) and Mr. Gayland Clark(Kasey) all of Rowland; seven grandchildren: Eulalie, Jonathan, Brittany, Krysten, Kayla, Hailey and Clark; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Gospel Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Revs: Crafton Chavis and Joe Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
