Mrs. Martha Evelyn Harris Locklear, 77, of 3897 Balfour Road, Shannon, was born March 31, 1940 and departed this life on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at her home. She is preceded in death by her husband: Mr. Gene A. Locklear; parents: Mr. Leroy Harris and Mrs. Martha J. Maynor; grandparents: Rev. Lawrence Maynor and Mrs. Munice J. Maynor; two sisters: Ms. Eula M. Locklear and Ms. Mary E. Chavis; one brother: Mr. Frankie Harris; three grandchildren: Ronnie G. Jacobs, Donald R. Brewer and Adam G. Locklear; three sons-in-law: Mr. Don Brewer, Mr. Ronnie Jacobs and Mr. Joel Carter and a great-grandchild: Harley N. Cooper.
The funeral will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 27, 2017, at Union Chapel Holiness Methodist Church with Rev. Willie Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the Maynor Family Cemetery.
Mrs. Locklear is survived by three sons: Mr. Jerry G. Locklear (Mae), Mr. Don A. Locklear and Mr.. Jammie Locklear ( Halonna); five daughters: Ms. Doris F. Locklear, Ms. Shirley A. Locklear, Ms. Ruby L. Jacobs, Ms. Betty J. Locklear and Ms. Lorrie A. Locklear; three brothers: Mr. Grady C. Harris, Mr. Gary Harris and Mr. Leroy Harris, Jr.; a sister: Ms. Tammy Locklear Harris; twenty grandchildren; forty-four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and a very special great-great-grandchild: Alyia Hardin and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017, at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
