Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One


Mr. Michael “Mitchel” Deese, 67, of 7092 Hwy 72 West, Pembroke, was born April 27, 1954 and departed this life on Friday, January 21, 2022. He was preceded in death by his father: Mr. Earl Deee; stepfather: Mr. Alton Lloyd; sister: Ms. Patricia Kotuski; and a special friend that he loved and called his son: Mr. Ricky (Fluff) Barton.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Rock of Ages with Rev. Marshall Strickland, Steve Strickland and Davey Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Airy Church Cemetery.

Mr. Michael Deese leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted wife of 48 years: Mrs. Irma Deese; three sons: Mr. Michael Heath (Emily), Mr. Justin Tyler, and Mr. Marcus Antonio (Mersade) all of Pembroke; his grandchildren; Chayton Michael Deese, who stole his papa’s heart, always called when he had been hunting to tell his papa all about his hunting trip, Landon Patrick Lowery and Maleah Addell Deese, every time he saw her would say “papa’s baby” which brought a smile to her face; his mother: Mrs. Lillian Locklear; three brothers: Mr. Larry Deese (Shirley) of Pembroke, Mr. David Deese (Patty) of Maxton and Mr. Elliott Lloyd (Karen) of Red Springs; one sister: Ms. Jennifer Lloyd of Pembroke; four boys that he loved and called his own: Mr. Randy Pulley, Mr. Travis Willoughby, Mr. Corey Bird, and Mr. Seth Oxendine.

Rockbuster was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing. He was well known for his field champion beagles. He enjoyed running his deer dogs while fellowshipping with his fellow club members. Mr. Mitchel also liked Nascar and always pulled for a FORD, Joey Logano. Mr. Mitchel will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Rock of Ages.
