Mr. John Stephen Jowanowitch Sr., 78, of 300 Cameron Lane, was born April 16,1939 and departed this life on Tuesday, October 31, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents: Mr. John L. Jowanowitch and Mrs. Geneva K. Dugger Jowanowitch; two sisters: Ms. Mary Ball and Ms. Beatrice Cannap.
The funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday November 5, 2017, at New Prospect Church with Revs: Perry Roberts, Willie Scott Jr. and Bro Eugene Bryant. Burial will follow in the New Prospect Church Cemetery.
Mr. Jowanowitch is survived by his wife: Mrs. Rita C. Jowanowitch; four sons: Mr. John S. Jowanowitch Jr., Mr. James Scott Jowanowitch, Mr. Matthew T. Jowanowitch, Mr. Mark W. Jowanowitch; one daughter: Mrs. Rita Michele Jowanowitch Keifer; one brother: Mr. Robert C. Jowanowitch; two sisters: Ms. Geneva Ritchie, Ms. Patricia Breedan; nine grandchildren: Elizabeth A. Jowanowitch; Zoey G. Crumpton, James Skyler Jowanowitch, Casey M. Jowanowitch, John S. Jowanowitch III, Sophie G.R. Keifer, Jesse S. Jowanowitch, Marcus C. Jowanowitch, Hunter K. Jowanowitch; one great-grandchild: Everly G. Shuffler and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, November 4, 2017, at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
