Ms. Viola Oxendine

Ms. Viola Oxendine Jones, 81, of 261 Joseph Drive Pembroke, NC was born May 7, 1937 and passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Joseph Oxendine and Mrs. Eunice Oxendine. She was also preceded in death by her husband: Mr. Frank Jones; one son: Mr. David Jones; two brothers: Mr. Kenneth Oxendine and Mr. Harvey Oxendine; and one sister: Ms. Lenone Jones of Pembroke. The funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Mt. Hebron Church with Revs: Kerry Revels and Fredrick Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the Oxendine Family Cemetery. She is survived by three children: Mr. Jimmy Oxendine, Mrs. Tammy Jones (Bud) of Pembroke; Mrs. Cynthia (Stevie) Freeman of Pembroke; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one brother Mr. Joseph Oxendine; three sisters: Ms. Magalene Simmons, Ms. Shirley Locklear and Ms. Janice Sanderson all of Pembroke; two special caretakers: Ms. Chasity Strickland and Ms. Tracey Deese to whom we are grateful, and a host of relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2018, at Mt. Hebron Church.
