PAULA KAY WARWICK JONES

Paula Kay Warwick Jones, age 61, of 407 South Austen Street, Maxton, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2021 at Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg, North Carolina, comforted by her family. She was born March 28, 1960 in Lumberton, North Carolina to Reese and Ellen Deese Warwick. Paula is preceded in death by her father, and is survived by her husband of 37 years, Jackie; two daughters: Jessica of Orlando, Florida, and Paige, of the home; son, Brad, sister, Tiffany, and her mother, all of Pembroke, N.C.; 7 grandchildren, a nephew, and a host of relatives and friends.

Paula was a 1978 graduate of Pembroke Senior High School, and later attended Robeson Community College. She worked at Robeson Healthcare Corporation and HealthKeeperz as an office assistant.

Paula was a devoted and charismatic servant of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. She was in lay speaker training, President of the United Methodist Women, sang Tenor in the church’s choir, an alternate lay member to the UMC conference, and an active participant in Sandhills Emmaus. In addition to serving on the church’s Pastoral Care Team and Outreach Committee, Paula contributed by assisting with Fish Loaves Outreach Witness (FLOW) and Tasty Tuesday. Her cooking rivaled Paula Deen’s, and she was renown for her Pound Cake and collard greens. She was also a hobbyist whose love of crafting led to her creating wreaths and floral arrangements. Paula often used flowers she had collected from her yard or ‘here and there,’ and it was not uncommon to see her in roadside fields gathering wildflowers for arrangements. Paula loved making beautiful things with her hands and sharing her passions with her friends.
