Ms. Louise Oxendine

Sister Louise Deese Oxendine, daughter of Mr. John Gus and Mrs. Clara Deese, was born on July 24, 1928 and reached her heavenly home on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 89 years young. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and most importantly a child of God. She was preceded in death by her parents: her husband: Mr. Billy Oxendine, a faithful canine companion: Rocky; two children: Mr. Kenny Locklear and Ms. Jane Dare Oxendine. The funeral will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Bakers Chapel with Revs: Lindbergh Chavis, Wyvis Oxendine Jr. and Dannie Brooks Jr. officiating. Burial Will follow in the Bakers Chapel- Church Cemetery. Sister Louise leaves behind to cherish her memories two sons: Mr. David Locklear of the home; Mr. Harry Locklear (Dzung) of California; three daughters: Mrs. Denise Oxendine (Wyvis Sr.) of Maxton, Ms. Paula Locklear of Pembroke and Ms. Joan Locklear of Indiana; a surrogate daughter: Mrs. Soncha Yates (Michael) of Atlanta; three brothers: Mr. Donald Deese, Mr. John Garner Deese (Velma) of Rowland and Mr. William Deese (Lula) of Greensboro; one sister: Ms. Rosa White of Rowland; twelve grandsons; one granddaughter; nine great-grandchildren and a host of friends, family, and her beloved Baker’s Chapel Church family. Sister Louise had the heart of a servant and served none more passionately than her Lord and savior Jesus Christ. A warrior for the Lord she proclaimed the gospel daily and told everyone she encountered about the love of God and precious gift of salvation Jesus provided on the cross for us. He went away to prepare a glorious place Lou was excited to get home to and now finally resides. She invites all to receive that gift of salvation and join her one sweet day. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
