Mrs. Susanell Brooks Locklear, 71, of 281 Joe’s Road, was born January 22, 1946 and died Sunday, March 26, 2017, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents: Mr. Thurman Jones & Mrs. Lillian Brooks Jones; her husband: Mr. Joseph Ira Locklear and a sister: Mrs. Janice B. Sparks.
The funeral will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at Bakers Chapel Baptist Church with the Revs: Lindbergh Chavis, Jimmy Strickland and Brian Keith Oxendine officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Anna Church Cemetery.
Surviving are two sons: Mr. Rudy Locklear and Mr. Reedy Barton; two daughters: Mrs. Sue Ellen Locklear-Hunt and Mrs. Ira Joeanna Oxendine; two brothers: Mr. Murriell Brooks and Mr. Bruce Brooks; a sister: Ms. Mary Alice Brooks; seven grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
