Mrs. Pearline Woods, 84 of 877 Harpers Ferry Road, was born on August 22, 1938 to the late Mr. Early and Mrs. Callie Brooks and departed this life on Tuesday, July 11, 2023. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Mr. Ervin Woods; Baby Ricky; Daughter: Ms. Teresa Locklear; brothers: Mr. Early Rome Brooks. Mr. Luke Brooks, Mr. Donald Ray Brooks and Mr. George Wayne Brooks; sisters: Ms. Geraline McMillian, Ms. Maudie May Oxendine, Ms. Margaret Culberson, Ms. Catherine Locklear and Ms. Patricia Brooks; one grandson: Austin Locklear and one granddaughter: Nicoya Woods.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Whitehill Freewill Baptist Church with Revs. Greg Cummings, Lawrence Garner and Kip Woods officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Woods leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter: Ms. Jacqueline Locklear (Greg) of the home; two sons: Mr. Timmy Woods (Darlene) of Pembroke and Mr. Ron Woods of Maxton; one adopted son: Mr. Christopher Woods (Tiffany) of Lumberton; two brothers: Mr. John Brooks of Rowland and Mr. Don Brooks (Sabrina) of Maxton; six sisters: Mrs. Blondalla Brayboy (Britton), Mrs. Vergie Locklear (Bobby), Mrs. Lenora Locklear (Landros), Ms. Vienna Locklear, Ms. Annette Locklear all of Maxton and Mrs. Dinah Oxendine (JL) of Lumberton; ten grandchildren: Timothy Woods, Ryan Locklear, Christian Woods, Chris Woods, Sonya Woods, Samantha Woods, Tabitha Woods, Mickie Woods, Tasha Locklear and Casey Locklear; twenty-two great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2023 at Lighthouse Church.
