MRS. MILDRED SAMPSON

Mrs. Mildred Sampson, 84 a resident of 276 Eddie Sampson Road, Lumberton, NC died on Monday, August 15, 2022 at home.

Mrs. Sampson was born in Robeson County, North Carolina on January 20, 1938 and was the daughter of the late Mr. Claudius and Mrs. Ella Mae Oxendine.

Mrs. Sampson was preceded in death by her husband: Mr. James Norman Sampson; a son: Mr. James Norman Sampson, Jr. a granddaughter: Jamie Scott; two sisters: Ms. Annie Hazel Oxendine and Ms. Eunice Locklear; five brothers: Mr. Henry W. Oxendine, Mr. Lacy Locklear, Mr. Barney Oxendine, Mr. Willie W. Oxendine and Mr. Julius Oxendine and a special family friend: Ms. Linda Dubois.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2022 at Deep Branch Baptist Church with Revs: Mike Cummings and James Graham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Sampson is survived by two daughters: Ms. Gale Sampson of the home and Ms. Genevieve Sampson Lovette of Lumberton; two sons: Mr. Michael Sampson and Mr. Ronnie Sampson both of Lumberton; one sister: Ms. Evelyn Freeman of Lumberton; two grandchildren: Lester Lovette, Jr. and Leslie Lovette Locklear both of Lumberton; five great grandchildren: Jacob (Hallie) Locklear, Jameson Hall, Jayvan Lovette, Mila Lovette and Christian Locklear; one great-great-grandchild: Jace Locklear and a host of relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Deep Branch Baptist Church.
