Mrs. Fairella Locklear

Mrs. Fairella Locklear, 92, of 181 Archie Fairella Road was born February 2, 1926 and peacefully went to sleep with Jesus on March 14, 2018. She is preceded in death by her parents: Mr. Murphy and Mrs. Aliefair Locklear; husband: Mr. Archie R. Locklear: daughter: Ms. Evelyn G. Locklear; son: Mr. Archie Ray Locklear; siblings: Ms. Addell Locklear, Mr. Murphy Locklear Jr. Ms. Zelma Lowry, Mr. Ronie Lee Hunt, Lee Alfred Locklear; and two grandchildren. The funeral will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Mt. Airy Baptist Church with Revs: Dr. Michael Cummings and Steve Strickland. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Fairella is survived by her daughters: Ms. Minnie Pearl Locklear and Ms. Joann Demery of Pembroke, and Mrs. Magenell Oxendine (Arnold) of Lumberton; sons: Mr. Roger Ray Locklear of Charlotte, NC, Mr. Ronald Locklear (Lori) of Pembroke, Mr. Donald Locklear (Linda) of Lumberton, one son-in-law: Mr. Laymon Locklear of Lumberton; one daughter-in-law: Ms. Carolyn “Sue” Locklear of Warren, Michigan; three sisters: Ms. Lizzie Belle Sampson and Mrs. Ludalia Cummings (Roy Lacy) of Pembroke, Ms. Lizzie Jane Locklear of Lumberton ; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of relatives and friends she cherished dearly. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2018 at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
