Mrs. Adeline Maynor

Mrs. Adeline Maynor, 85, was born January 3, 1933 in a farm house in the Pembroke community of “Pates” and died Thursday, August 10, 2018, at Wesley Pines in Lumberton. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Ralph & Mrs. Katie Deese Lowry. She was preceded in death by her husband: Mr. James Warford Maynor and her siblings: Mr. Capler, Mr. Carl, Mr. Calhoun, Ms. Ada, Ms. Ina, Ms. Stella, Ms. Edith, Ms. Helen, Mr. Neil, Mr. Hampton, Mr. Millard, Mr. Herbert, Mr. Carson, Ms. Naomi and Ms. Theone. The funeral will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 12, 2018, at First United Methodist Church-Pembroke with the Revs: Matthue Locklear, Robert Mangum and Herbert Lowry officiating. Burial will follow in the Deese Family Cemetery. Mrs. Maynor is survived by a daughter: Ms. Kayron K. Maynor; son: Mr. Warford Granual Maynor(Jamie); step-son: Mr. Harry Locklear; niece: Dr. Katie Lowry Petersen(Mark); sister: Ms. Lottie Lowry Hardison(Gary); two grandchildren: Bosslambert Desmond Locklear(Natalie) and Warford Jeremiah Maynor; two great-grandchildren: Kaelin Ray Locklear and Ashton B. Locklear; a special adopted daughter: Mrs. Nicole Lucas Haimes(Ted), who brought many special adventures into her life; a bounty of love from nieces, nephews, family members and classmates. Mrs. Adeline earned her Bachelor of Education from Pembroke State College. She then taught high school business at Magnolia High School for 30 years. She was also a N.C. Realtor and Appraiser in Pembroke for 30 years and was the proud owner of A&A Realty. Mrs. Adeline along with Mr. Warford owned and operator “Maynor Center” in the Union Chapel Community. Mrs. Adeline had a great devotion to God, church and the community. She was a great believer in prayer and scripture. She loved gospel music, hearing the word of God and going to church. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Pembroke since 1999. Her favorite book of the Bible was John. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
