Mr. Silas Strickland, Jr., 75 of 227 Kelvin Circle Rowland, NC was born October 23, 1946 and departed this life on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at UNC Southeastern Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents: Mr. Silas and Mrs. Brover Strickland; his wife: Mrs. Betty D. Strickland; grandson: Aaron Michael Lester; brothers: Mr. Wallace Strickland, Mr. Paul Strickland and Mr. Harry Dean Strickland; sisters: Mrs. Annie N. Locklear, Mrs. Helen Brayboy, Mrs. Roanna Lowry, Mrs. Shelby Deese and Mrs. Catherine Locklear; the mother of his daughter Ms. Wanda Kline.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Pentecostal Church of Christ with Rev. Thurman Scott and Floyd Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He leaves to cherish his memories: Mrs. Samantha Lester (Mike) of Rowland, NC; his stepson: Mr. Harold Deese (Glenda) of Maxton; brothers: Mr. Alex Strickland (Lillie) of Pembroke, Mr. Jimmy Strickland (Frances) of Rowland; sisters: Mrs. Diane Locklear of Rowland and Mrs. Mildred Locklear (Carson) of Lumberton; a special step-grandson: Mr. Brock Deese and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Pentecostal Church of Christ.
