Mr. Randall Ray Jacobs

Mr. Randall Ray Jacobs, age 54 of Pembroke NC was born on February 11, 1964. As the sunset on his life Saturday, July 21, 2018, a glorious light illuminated the path as he entered his eternal home. Mr. Randall was a 1982 graduate from Pembroke Senior High School. He received a full scholarship to play college football at West Virginia Tech where he played for almost 4 years. He returned to Pembroke and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Health/Physical Education from Pembroke State University. An unfortunate incident in 1997 left him in a permanently and totally incapacitated state. His body wasn’t the same, but his eternal presence was brilliant. He is preceded in death by his father: Mr. Colonel Ray Jacobs; half sister: Ms. Sonya Kay Ferguson Moore; grandfather: Mr. Redell Jacobs; grandmother: Ms. Stella Jacobs; grandfather: Mr. Bobby Smith; and grandmother: Ms. Flay Smith. He is survived by his mother: Mrs. Carrie Smith Jacobs, sister: Ms. Rita Jacobs Sandoval, three nephews, three nieces and a host of other relatives and friends. Although our hearts are aching, we also have great joy because we know that Randall is in Heaven. He will forever be remembered for his passion for football and fishing; a contagious smile and laugh that would brighten your darkest days. The Jacobs family would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff at the Genesis HealthCare in Pembroke as this was Randall’s home for many years. Also thank you to Southeastern Regional Hospital and Southeastern Hospice House. A Celebration of Randall’s Life will be held from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Locklear & Son Funeral Home with the Rev Robert L Mangum officiating.
