Mr. Mark Jared Cummings, 53, made his heavenly journey to join his loved ones there on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. He was born on April 30, 1970 to Mr. Jerry Cummings and the late Joyce Elizabeth Cummings.
Mr. Mark was his father’s son, following behind in his footsteps as an entrepreneur and manager of Pembroke Tire Service for many years. His passion and love of cars served him well as he provided automobile maintenance to so many in his community. He was an avid lover of Corvettes, Nascar, Dale Earnhart, and fishing. His willingness to offer a helping hand and his thoughtful, constructive advice will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his mother: Mrs. Joyce Cummings; paternal grandparents: Mr. Stanley & Mr. Anna Cummings; maternal grandmother: Ms. Neta Woodell; and aunts: Ms. Linda Johnson and Ms. Margorie Dixson.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Sandy Plains Church with Revs. Dufrene Cummings and Chris Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Mark leaves behind to cherish his memory: his father: Mr. Jerry Dean Cummings; his greatest blessings: Mr. Mark Jared Cummings II, Ms. Joyce Anna, Mr. Jaron Marcus (Hannah), Ms. Malina Aubriona, and Mr. Colton; five beautiful grandchildren: Leland, Aubree, Annslee, Owen, and Kayson; brother: Mr. Dana Emanuel (Sue) of Maryland; sister: Ms. Jennifer of Pembroke, North Carolina; aunts: Ms. Lola Deblosio of New York, Ms. Faye Byrd of Texas, Ms. Cecelia McLemore of Pembroke, North Carolina, Mrs. Lois Revels (Terry) of Lumberton, Ms. Shirley Deshaun of Pennsylvania; uncle: Mr. Gregory Cummings of Pembroke; niece: Elizabeth; a very special nephew and niece that took exceptional care of him: Kameron and Augusta Cummings; and a host of cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Sandy Plains Church.
