Mr. Joseph “Buck” Sampson, 81, of 164 Eddie Sampson Road, Lumberton was born July 13, 1943 and departed this life on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at UNC Health Southeastern Hospital of Lumberton. He was preceded in death by his mother: Ms. Mabel Dial and father: Mr. Joe Sampson; brothers: Mr. Larry Sampson and Mr. Earis Sampson and a son-in-law: Mr. Craig Locklear.
Mr. Joseph was a brick mason for over 40 years and he loved the outdoors.
The graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2024 at Deep Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Joseph leaves behind his wife of 57 years: Mrs. Rachel Sampson; his daughters: Ms. Kimberly Jo Sampson of the home and Ms. Karrie Beth Locklear of Prospect; two grandchildren: Chloe Bethany Locklear and Chase Brady Locklear; one sister: Ms. Mary Lois Clark; one brother: Mr. Gary Sampson of Lumberton and a host of relatives and friends.
The visitation will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2024 at Deep Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Buck and I enjoyed many years of Quail hunting together years ago. He was a good friend.
