MR. DAVID EARL OXENDINE

It is with great sadness the family of Mr. David Earl Oxendine announce his passing on Monday, April 17, 2023. David lived a long and fulfilling life and served his country for 22 years. David recently reached the age of 80 and in his retirement enjoyed gardening, wood working, and “piddling around.” David was a devoted Husband, Father, and Grandfather. David has now gone to rest with our Father in heaven.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Mt. Airy Baptist Church with Preacher Adrian Hammond officiating. Burial will follow in the Oxendine Family Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Mr. Britton and Mrs. Beulah; siblings: Mr. James Alvin, Mr. Nelson, Mr. James Early, Mr. Jimmy Ray, Mr. Britton Jr., Ms. Virginia, Mr. Gene, Mr. William, Ms. Rowena, and Mr. Jerry. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife: Mrs.  Ilse; daughters: Mrs. Colleen (Rob) Wardlow and Ms. Belinda Locklear; sister: Ms. Mary Sally Oxendine; grandchildren: Aaron (Emma), Gabrielle, Sarah, Justin, and Naomi; many other wonderful nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Mt. Airy Baptist Church.
