Mr. Christopher Lynn Locklear

Mr. Christopher Lynn Locklear, 50, of Greensboro, NC, formerly of the Union Chapel community, departed this life on Sunday, February 19, 2017 in Fayetteville NC. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Mr. Ashby and Mrs. Pearlie Locklear; maternal grandparents: Mr. Thurman Oxendine and Mrs. Evelyn Sampson and great grandparents: Mr. Daniel Duckery and Mrs. Flora Ellen Oxendine.

The funeral will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, February 23, 2017, at Union Chapel Community Baptist Church with the Revs: Jimmy Strickland and Mattheue Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the Oxendine Cemetery.

He is survived by his parents Mr. Laney and Mrs. Bernetha Locklear of Pembroke, NC; three brothers: Mr. Laney “Duke” Locklear (Karen), Mr. Daniel Locklear and Mr. Shon Locklear all of Pembroke NC; two sisters: Mrs. Alison Oxendine (James Darrin) and Mrs. LaCinda Oxendine (Peter Duel). He shared a special bond with his ten nieces and two nephews along with a host of relatives and friends whom he loved dearly.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Pembroke State University. He was a volunteer with Guilford Native American Association for 24 years and was a former member of the board of directors. He attended Triad Native American United Methodist Church and was an employee of Bank of America for 21 years.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
