Ms. Lorie Amons, 89, of 5036 N. Chicken Road, was born May 29, 1931 and departed this life on Thursday, April 29, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents: Mr. Sims and Mrs. Libby Lowery; husband: Mr. Junie Amons; seven brothers: Mr. Lacy Lowery, Mr. Hubert Lowery, Mr. Ollin Lowery, Mr. Russel Lowery, Mr. Walter Lowery, Mr. Bunyan Lowery and Mr. Sims Lowery Jr.; sisters: Ms. Ina Lowery and Mrs. Ada Oxendine; one daughter: Ms. Libby Lowery; grandson: Jeremieh Locklear and granddaughter: Becky Rose Locklear.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Evergreen Holiness Church with Revs: Kip Woods and George L. Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the Oxendine cemetery.
Mrs. Amons is survived by Dale and Fay Amons of the home; Junie Britt (William) of Lumberton, Verdie Locklear (Dosta) of Lumberton, Rondy Amons (Annette) of Pembroke, Ryan Amons (Natasha) of Lumberton; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Evergreen Holiness Church.
