DEVAN “Dev” CHRISTOPHER COLLINS

Mr. Devan Christopher “Dev” Collins of 7130 NC Hwy 72 West Pembroke, NC was born April 12, 1991 and departed this life September 28, 2022 at the age of 31. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Timmie and Krista Melita Hite and Mr. and Mrs. Ricky and Sonya Kay Collins of Maxton, NC. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather: Mr. Jerry Collins.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Mt. Airy Baptist Church with Revs: Kelvin Locklear, Adrian Hammonds and Steve Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his parents: Mr. and Mrs. Timmie and Krista of the home and Mr. and Mrs. Ricky and Kay of Maxton; his maternal grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Bobby and Ethel Gail Locklear of Pembroke; his paternal grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Barbara Dial of Maxton; one brother: Mr. Blake Hite of Columbia, SC; two sisters: Mrs. Brianna (Kevin) Locklear of Pembroke, and Ms. Rikayla Collins of Maxton; two aunts: Mrs. Rudine (Brian) Locklear and Mrs. LaRonda (Jamie) Lowery of Pembroke; three uncles: Mr. Kenrick (Schnell) Locklear of Lumberton, Mr. Mark Collins of Maxton, and Mr. Greg (Beth) Collins of Princeton; one niece: Miss Kailan Locklear of Pembroke; eleven cousins: Robert Locklear, Kendra Locklear, Briana Locklear, Kendron Locklear, Cole Lowery, Abigail Lowery, Kyler Collins, Maya Collins, Layahna Lowry, and Londyn Lowry and our upcoming newest addition: Theo; a special friend: Ms. Elyse Harris and family of Indianapolis, Indiana; and a special family: the Ammons’ of Lumberton.

Mr. Collins was a loving son, grandson, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Some of his hobbies included playing baseball and video games as a child and watching sports into his adulthood. Some of his favorite teams were the Carolina Tar Heels and New York Yankees.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Mt. Airy Baptist Church.

    Although our meetings were brief it was a pleasure to have known Devan. We will continue to keep the families in our thoughts and prayers during this time. You have our deepest sympathy.

    It was a blessing to know Devin as a friend and a young man with a desire to serve God with a passion he spoke the word with a zeal….I pray that the same God comforts the family and bring peace in knowing that he has touch many hearts through his love for God.
