MS. EARLENE LOCKLEAR

     Surrounded by loved ones, Ms. Earlene Locklear, 93 years of age, of Pembroke, NC went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at her home. She was born on November 3, 1932, in Robeson County to the late Mr. Willie Mack Locklear & Mrs. Mary Beulah Carter Locklear. She is also preceded in death by her husband: Mr. John Chancel “Peter Pan” Locklear; four brothers: Mr. Alfred Locklear, Mr. James Edward (Sue) Locklear, Mr. Sidney Nelson Locklear and Mr. William Everett Locklear.

     Ms. Locklear is survived by two children: Mr. John Boris Locklear (Scott) of Charlotte and Mrs. Tonya Clark (Kenneth) of Rowland; two grandchildren: Ashland Cheyenne Lane (Josh) of Pembroke and Garland Nathaniel Clark of Rowland; great-grandchild: LaDora Faith Lane; sister: Ms. Mary Dicie Lowry and a brother: Mr. Boss Lambert Locklear both of Pembroke; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

     Ms. Earlene was an educator in the Robeson County School System for 36 years and a proud graduate of UNC-Pembroke. Her life was a testament and replica of the scripture from Proverbs 31: Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. Her children arise up and call her blessed: her husband also and he praised her. Her family and all little children were her life, her pride and her joy and God was a part of every waking moment. Today we say, Mom go rest high on that mountain.

     The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Mt. Airy Baptist Church with the Revs: Kelvin Locklear and Steve Strickland officiating with burial to follow in the Mt. Airy Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
