Mrs. Sussie Davis, 99, of Burke, VA formally of Pembroke, NC was born on February 15, 1923 and departed this life on Sunday, May 22, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents: Mr. Riley and Mrs. Willie Locklear; two husbands: Mr. James Quinton “JQ” Locklear and Mr. Elton Davis; two sisters: Ms. Dorothy Maynor, Ms. Cordell Homan and Ms. Evelyn Cummings; four brothers: Mr. Calvin Locklear, Mr. Paul Locklear, Mr. RJ Locklear and Mr. Ronnie Neal Locklear.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Pembroke Gospel Chapel with Rev. Chris Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the Lumbee Memorial Garden.
Mrs. Davis was a very generous and loving person who always looked out for her siblings. She is survived by her brother: Mr. Sturgeon Locklear and a host of relatives and friends.
