MRS. SUZETTE LOCKLEAR JONES

Mrs. Suzette Locklear Jones 65 years old, of Pembroke, N.C. departed this earth Thursday, March 10, 2022, to be with her heavenly father.  Mrs. Suzette was born October 24, 1956, in Robeson County and was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents: Mr. Sanford and Mrs. Gussie Mae Locklear; sisters: Ms. Wanda Carol Locklear, Ms. Ann Mortensen, Ms. Helen Devine and one brother:  Mr. Martin Dean Locklear.

Mrs. Suzette loved all who entered the doors of her home. She was an excellent cook and no one ever left hungry. She loved her family, friends, and church family. Mrs. Suzette had a heart of GOLD and loved all and never met a stranger. She always had a warm smile despite life’s challenges. Mrs. Suzette will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and as “Aunt Suzie.”

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Union Chapel Holiness Methodist Church with the Revs: Chris Miller and Anthony Chavis officiating.  Burial will follow in the Jones Family Cemetery.

To cherish her memory, she leaves behind her husband of 47 years: Mr. Joseph Jones; three children: Mr. Paul Jones (Heather) of Saddletree, N.C., Mrs. Gussie Laguitan (Marco) of Moreno Valley, California and Mrs. Ranada Jones-Barsh (Bobby) of Buckhead, N.C.; seven grandchildren: Kiara, Quintin, Karina, Jordan, Jade, Bobby, and Sophia; brothers: Mr. James Wesley Hammonds of Greensboro, N.C., Mr. Sanford Locklear of Liberty, N.C., Mr. John Wayne Locklear (Barbara) of Leawood, Kansas and one sister: Ms. Fontain Locklear of Pembroke, N.C. and a host of relatives and friends. Let’s not fail to mention her beloved puppy “Bailey.”

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Union Chapel Holiness Church.

    Gussie and Family,
    I am so for your lost. I remember mama as a kind and witty woman of God. I’m thankful for the times I was able to sit and talk with her. She was a blessing. We will continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
