Mr. Ivory “Napa” Lowery, 73, of 719 Eddie Sampson Road, was born on April 2, 1944 in Robeson County and departed this life on Friday, September 15, 2017, at Duke University Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents: Mr. Layton & Mrs. Mary Lee Lowery; his brother: Mr. James Earl Lowery and his sister: Mrs. Bobby Jean Chavis.
Mr. Ivory loved heavy Chevys. He was an avid hunter and was a longtime member of Wadesville Hunting Club in Montgomery County. He grew up a farmer and had a passion for raising the best swine for market and growing the largest, sweetest and juiciest watermelons for family and friends.
The funeral will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at Bear Swamp Baptist Church with the Revs: Dr. Tim Chavis, Hubbard Lowery and Jerry McNeill officiating. Burial will follow in the Lumbee Memorial Gardens.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife: Mrs. Veda W. Lowery; his children: Mrs. Querida W. Jones(Mike) of Pembroke and Mr. Kyle Brandon Lowery of the home; three brothers: Mr. Robert Lowery, Mr. Albert Lowery and Rev. Hubbard Lowery; two sisters: Mrs. Sally Matos and Ms. Leah Lowry; four grandchildren: Kylan “Secotah” Hunt, Sekiya Laquyah Hunt, Kylah Lowery and Peyton Lowery and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday, September 18, 2017, at Bear Swamp Church.
