Ms. Rose Ella Edwards, 76, of Pembroke, NC was born January 23, 1947 and departed this life on Monday, December 25, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband: Mr. Garland Edwards; parents: Mr. John Charles Brooks and Mrs. Leacie Cummings Brooks; two brothers: Arvin Daniel Locklear and John Charles “JC” Brooks; one grandchild: Farrah Grace Norwood; three great-grandchildren: Bryson Amir Rodgers, William Kayton Norwood, Jack Lee Simpson.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, December 31, 2023 at Evergreen Holiness Church with Rev. Kip Woods and Kenneth Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the Oxendine Cemetery.
Ms. Edwards is survived by her children: Mr. Wayne Lewis (Martha), Mr. Adam B. Lewis, Ms. Victoria Brooks, Mrs. Lisa A. Kelly (Billy), Mr. John N. Collins and an adopted daughter: Ms. Debra Richardson; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sisters: Ms. Linda R. Oxendine; Mrs. Beverly R. Locklear (Donald), Mrs. Ruth E. Vollmar (Jody) and Ms. Madelene C. Locklear and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Sunday, December 31, 2023 at Evergreen Holiness Church.
