Ms. Ludahlia Jacobs Wilkins, 83, of 1765 Evergreen Church Road, Pembroke was born on July 17, 1934 to Mr. Lee and Mrs. Cora Jacobs. She completed her victorious journey on March 13, 2018. She is now standing on the eternal promises of her lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Union Chapel Baptist Church with Revs: Jimmy Strickland and Hulan Chavis officiating. Burial will follow in the Oxendine Cemetery. Ms. Ludahlia was a devoted member of Union Chapel Community Baptist Church. She served her church for over 40 years as a young elementary Sunday school teacher. She was an active member in the Ladies Auxiliary and choir of her church family. Ms. Ludahlia faithfully instructed children in several schools as an elementary teacher for 36 years. She devoted herself to her students teaching, fully and abundantly, as it was the work the Lord gave her to accomplish. She maintained her strength in the Lord so that his word would live in them. Additionally she served as treasurer of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary for over 20 years. Her ascension to Christ was preceded by her parents: Mr. Lee and Mrs. Cora Jacobs; her steadfast and faithful husband of 40 years: Mr. Alton Luther Wilkins; brothers: Mr. Dallas Jacobs, Mr. Dalton Jacobs, Mr. Sanford Jacobs and Mr. Jimmy Jacobs; sisters: Mrs. Sally Jacobs Callahan and Mrs. Bonnie Jacobs Wilkins. She is survived by children: Mrs. Wanda Locklear (Michael) of Rennert, Mr. Antonio Wilkins (Beth) of Pembroke; grandchildren: Shaun Michael Locklear, Elizabeth Locklear, Chasity Skusa, Brayden Wilkins, Avery Grace Wilkins and Heidi Wilkins; great-grandchildren: Bailey and Hailey Locklear; brothers: Mr. Daniel Jacobs, Mr. Hilton Jacobs, and Mr. Clyde Jacobs; sisters: Ms. May Ola Locklear, Ms. Irene Wells, and Ms. Cora Etiska Strickland and a multitude of family and friends. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
