Ms. Dorisietta Revels passed away at her home on Thursday, November 16, 2023. She was preceded in death by her father and mother: Mr. Chalmers Locklear and Ms. Gretchen Brooks Hatcher; husband of 48 years: Mr. Ronald Revels Sr.; daughter: Ms. Ronett R. Jones, as well as granddaughters: Ashley and Jessica Jones; and her brothers Mr. Robert Vance, Mr. Lester “Luck”, and Mr. Phil Locklear.
Services will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Called Out Holiness Church. Burial will follow in the Hammonds Family Cemetery.
She leaves to cherish her memory a son: Mr. Ron Revels Jr.; daughter: Ms. Bridgette Revels; two brothers: Mr. Arnold and Mr. Phillip Ray Locklear, sister: Ms. Dorothy L. Chavis; grandchildren: Kevin, Nikki, Joseph, Garett, and Sophia; as well as many other friends and relatives.
To those who knew her, she was a formidable woman. She was feisty and opinionated, with a good sense of humor and a willingness to help others. She possessed an unmatched work ethic and, along with her husband, built successful businesses that served the community well. Throughout her life, she brought immeasurable laughter and joy to her loved ones. She will live on in our hearts, minds, and souls forever.
