Mrs. Vida Locklear

Mrs. Vida Frances Locklear, 83, of 105 Garden Street, Pembroke, was born May 22, 1934 and died Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Southeastern Hospice House. She was preceded in death by her parents: Mr. Jessie & Mrs. Mary Lee Lowry Locklear; her first husband: Mr. Joseph Dixon Johnson; her daughter: Miss April K. Johnson; brothers: Mr. Joseph Locklear and Mr. Jessie Locklear, Jr. and sisters: Ms. Zadie R. Locklear and Ms. Lydia Locklear. The funeral will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 21, 2018, at St. Anna Freewill Baptist Church with the Revs: Tony Miller and Lindbergh Chavis officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Anna Church Cemetery. Surviving are her husband: Mr. Melyar C. Locklear; a son: Mr. Joseph K. Johnson(Michelle); two daughters: Mrs. Valerie Oxendine(Colby) and Mrs. Tina A. Locklear(Ted); a brother: Mr. Hervie Locklear; three sisters: Mrs. Madis R. Maynor, Mrs. Myrtle Agee and Mrs. Bertice Brown; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, January 21, 2018, at St. Anna Church. Services entrusted to Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
