Mrs. Patricia Locklear

Mrs. Patricia “Prissy” Locklear, 84, of 45 Carla Drive, was born April 15, 1933 and passed into her Heavenly home on Tuesday, March 20, 2018. She was preceded in death by her mother: Ms. Mary Roni Strickland; her husband: Mr. Council “Bossman” Locklear; brother: Mr. George Strickland, Jr.; sisters: Ms. Jane Butler and Ms. Myrtle “Judy” Oxendine; granddaughters: Carla Oxendine and Charity Faith Hope Strong and a great-granddaughter: Laquouia Locklear. Mrs. Locklear was a homemaker and worked on the farm all her life. She faithfully attended Gospel Tabernacle Baptist Church. In her spare time, she loved fishing with her sisters and gardening, but now she is doing her own gardening in Heaven. Ms. Patricia was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother and will truly be missed. The funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Gospel Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Revs: Chris Locklear and Johnny Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the Locklear Family Cemetery. Surviving are her children: Mrs. Betty Jo Oxendine(Freddie), Mr. Glen Locklear(Linda), Mr. Vernon Dean Locklear(Belinda), Mrs. Rose Marie Goins(Kent) and Ms. Marlene Strong all of Rowland and Ms. Gloria Jean Locklear and grandson: Cody Lee Locklear both of the home; brothers: Mr. Jack Strickland of Laurinburg, Mr. Alford Strickland and Mr. Alex Strickland of Maxton; sisters: Ms. Lou Nelson of Raeford, Ms. Shirley Strickland of Laurinburg and Ms. Ann McGirt of Pembroke; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and a host of relatives and friends. She had a special place in her heart for her cousin: Mr. Belton Chavis and her dear friend: Mr. Dennis Hawkins. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2018, at Gospel Tabernacle Baptist Church. Services entrusted to Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
