Ms. Mary Sally Oxendine, 87, of Beulah’s Farm Drive, Pembroke, was born on Tuesday, May 4, 1937 and departed this life on Sunday evening, of June 9, 2024 at Morrison Manor. She is preceded in death by her parents: Mr. Britton and Mrs. Beulah L. Oxendine; son: Mr. Travis Oxendine; siblings: Mr. James Alvin, Mr. William Danford, Mr. James Early, Mr. Gene Autry, Mr. Britton Jr., Mr. David Earl, Mr. Jerry, Mr. Jimmy Ray, Mr. Nelson, Ms. Virginia and Ms. Rowena.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Mt. Airy Baptist Church with Revs. Steve Strickland and Kelvin Locklear. Burial will follow in the Family Cemetery.
Ms. Oxendine is survived by her daughter: Ms. Towanda, granddaughter: Tiani Hope; grandson: Braedon Jeffery Locklear; sisters by vows: Mrs. Ilse Oxendine; Mrs. Eunice Oxendine and Ms. Barbara Oxendine; brothers by vows: Mr. Paul Godaire and Mr. Roger Blackwood; her loving nieces and nephews that she dearly loved; a lifetime best friend: Ms. Clare Mabel and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
She started work as a farm girl, then joined the factory work force to provide for her family. She began at Crandall’s, Goodrich, Kayser Roth and 29 years at Mueller Steam specialty.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Mt. Airy Baptist Church.
