Mrs. Josephine Locklear, 92, of Genesis Pembroke Center was born October 29, 1932 and departed this life on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband: Mr. Prentis Locklear; one son: Mr. Ronald Locklear; two daughters: Ms. Vanessa Locklear and Ms. Jennifer Locklear; her parents: Mr. Marvin McGirt and Mrs. Sufronia Chavis McGirt; sisters: Mrs. Dorothy Hammonds, Mrs. Yvonne Champbell, Mrs. Cora Lee Locklear, Mrs. Mary Owens, Mrs. Margaret Thompson and Mrs. Eva Goins; two brothers: Mr. Marvin “Buddy” McGirt and Mr. Fred McGirt.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Sandy Plains Church with Rev. Mattheue Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the Locklear Family Cemetery.
Mrs. Locklear is survived by a sister: Mrs. Glenda Goins and brother: Mr. Bobby McGirt both of Dallas, NC; one daughter-in-law: Mrs. Dianna Locklear; three grandchildren: Cathy Jo Locklear, Heath Locklear and Chad Locklear; six great-grands: Michael, Ronald, Dreama Beasley Cyanne, Shania, Emily Locklear all of Pembroke; two great-great-grands” Karson Milo Beasley and Emberlee Sage Locklear and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Sandy Plains Church.
