Ms. Johnnie Lee Locklear, 77, of Maxton, was the daughter of the late Mr. Lacy Maynor and Ms. Maggie Troublefield and was born on February 2, 1946 in Robeson County. She was wife to the late Mr. Odell “Sam” Locklear. She was a faithful member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and devoted to her family and church family. She will be remembered as a loving mother, granny, sister, aunt and friend. Mrs. Locklear departed this life on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at the age of 77.
She wass preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons: Mr. Scottie Odell Locklear and Mr. Derwin D. Locklear; brother: Mr. Alen Locklear; a sister: Ms. Judy Ann Locklear; a great grandson: Kenneth Charles Scribner.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with Revs. Jimmy Strickland, Dufrene Cummings and Edward Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Locklear is survived by her three sons: Mr. Elvis Ray Locklear (Michelle), Mr. Dell Ray Locklear and Mr. Tony Noreiga; one daughter: Mrs. Jill Locklear (Chad); sister: Mrs. Carrie Mae Lammonds (William); grandchildren: Octavia, DeAngelo, Daija, Emily, Cheyenne, Stephen, Corey, Lathen, Isabella, Sam, Alex, and Paul; one great-grandchild: Jayden and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2023 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
