Mrs. Jacqueline Glass

Mrs. Jacqueline Lowry Glass, daughter of Claude Lowry, Sr. and Sarah Eliza Hunt was born May 6, 1932 and departed this life on Sunday, March 11, 2018. After graduating from Pembroke High School she attended Pembroke State College prior to moving to Charlotte, NC. She spent most of her adult life in Charlotte and returned to her home town in 2003. Jackie was married to Mr. Earl Ansley Glass with whom she had one daughter: Mrs. Susan Claudia Glass (John Capps) currently of Sanford, NC. Mrs. Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Ms. Inez Lowry Dial, Ms. Aver Lowry, Ms. Sarah Lowry Woodliff and Ms. Altha Lowry Whitehead; and brothers: Mr. Claude, Jr., Mr. Dolvin Ansley and Mr. Robert Adolph. She is survived by sisters: Ms. Jo Lowry Worrell and Ms. Eleanor Lowry Otten of Pembroke and Ms. Elaine Lowry Strickler of Mt. Holly, NC and brothers: Mr. Alvin Melton, Mr. William Alfred and Mr. Wayne of Pembroke and Mr. Richard Lowry of Winston-Salem, NC. The family wishes to thank Mrs. Jackie’s Caregivers from Dial Family Care, Pembroke, and most recently from Richmond Pines Healthcare and rehabilitation Center in Hamlet, NC. A memorial Service will be held at Bear Swamp Baptist Church on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to UNC Pembroke Campus Recreation Club Sports Women’s Basketball.
