Mr. Rencil P. Locklear

Mr. Rencil Poe Locklear, 89, of 458 Lonnie Farm Road, Pembroke, was born May 12, 1928 and died Thursday, April 26, 2018, after an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents: Mr. Lonnie & Mrs. Flara Bell Oxendine Locklear; his wife of 59 years: Mrs. Adrene Carter Locklear; a son: Mr. Terry Delane Locklear; a grandson: Michael Locklear; brothers: Mr. William K. Locklear and Mr. Lonnie Locklear, Jr.; sisters: Mrs. Adelaide Locklear, Mrs. Marneice Cummings and Mrs. Nellie Paulk. The funeral will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2018, at Mt. Airy Baptist Church with the Revs: Adrian Hammonds and Steve Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Airy Church Cemetery. Surviving to cherish his memories are: a son: Mr. Michael Locklear(Denise); a daughter: Ms. Carlene Locklear; a sister: Mrs. Clella Locklear; grandsons: Wesley Oxendine, John Locklear and Davis Smiling, Jr.; granddaughters: Jessica Edwards, Andrea Locklear, Kerston Locklear and Mikayah Locklear; great-grandchildren: John Locklear, Jr., Chandler Locklear, Kylon Locklear, Halana Blevins, Kaden Seals, Isaiah Eller, Bradley Kenner, Zachery Kenner, Jayde Kenner, Justin Blue, Jr. and Jordan Blue and a host of relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. -3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2018, at Mt. Airy Baptist Church. Service entrusted to Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
