Mr. Joseph Wayne “JW” Oxendine, Jr., 72, of 853 Jones Road, Pembroke, NC was born on June 30, 1948 to the late Mr. Joseph Wayne Oxendine, Sr. and Mrs. Eunice Brayboy Oxendine and departed from us on Friday, January 22, 2021. He is preceded in death by his wife: Mrs. Joyce Oxendine; two brothers: Mr. Harvey Oxendine and Mr. Kenneth Oxendine; three sisters: Ms. Lenore Jones, Ms. Viola Jones and Ms. Janice Sanderson; and one step-son: Mr. Carl Dean Locklear.
The graveside service will be Tuesday, January, 26, 2021 at Oxendine Family Cemetery with Revs: Larry Locklear and David Lowry officiating.
Mr. JW retired from Fleetwood Manufacturing Plant as a foreman and he served 30 years at Pembroke Rescue Squad. He enjoyed fishing and farming with his John Deer Tractor. He had a heart of gold and loved to help people in need.
He is survived by a daughter: Mrs. Virginia Hunt (Drake); two grandchildren: Dustin and Destiny Hunt a daughter-in-law; Mrs. Lisa Locklear; two step-grandchildren: Briana & Kyton Locklear and a step great grandchild: Bya Locklear; two sisters: Ms. Shirley Locklear and Ms. Magdalene Simmons of Pembroke, NC; one step-son: Mr. Ricky Ransom and two good friends: Mr. Victor Ray Blue and Mr. Carson Locklear and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
