MR. JOHN L. LOWERY

     Mr. John Lewis Lowery, 82, of 85 St. Anna Rd, Pembroke, NC, was born on June 29, 1943, and entered his heavenly home on Sunday, November 16, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents: Mr. Johnny Lowery and Mrs. Norma Clark Lowery; a brother: Mr. Walter Lowery and a son: Mr. John Kareem Lowery.

     The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Bear Swamp Baptist Church with the Revs: Dr. Tim Chavis and Lindbergh Chavis officiating. Burial will follow in the Gray Pond Baptist Church Cemetery.

     Mr. John is survived by his loving wife of 55 years: Mrs. Jo Ann Chavis Lowery; a daughter: Mrs. Mary Orinda Revels and son-in-law: Mr. Mickey Revels; a son: Mr. Steve Fuller Lowery; his grandchildren: Kayla Oxendine, Stinston Lewis Revels, Braydann Orinda Revels, Layken Elizabeth Lowery and Leighton Asher Lowery, and three great grandsons: Ethan Chavis, Mylon Oxendine, and Asher Oxendine; godson: Mr. Dakota Lowery (Chelsea Locklear) and their children Norris and August. He was also survived by his brothers: Mr. Carl Clark and Mr. Marcus (Pam) Lowery; sisters: Ms. Linda Bullard and Ms. Barbara Strickland and a host of relatives and friends.

     A lifelong tool and die maker, John lived part of his life in Scotland County and the rest in Robeson County. He graduated from Gibson High School, and later received his Associate Degree in tool and die from Fayetteville Technical Community College. He was employed at Scotland Manufacturing for 26 years and spent his retirement tending to his garden.

     Mr. John was a faithful member of Bear Swamp Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for years. He loved God, his Sunday school class and visiting members of his church. He spent part of his spare time meditating upon the word of God. John believed incorporating prayer in one’s life is vital to a strong relationship with Jesus.  John was a devoted husband, father, and Papa who lived for his wife, children and grandchildren whom he adored and treasured. John was beloved by all who knew him. He was an avid fan of the Duke Basketball Program, the Dallas Cowboys Football Team, and the Yankees Baseball Team. John Lewis will be deeply missed.

     The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Bear Swamp Baptist Church.
