Mr. Grady was a true overachiever and role model to many. His educational background was something he was truly proud of, which includes: 1963 Pembroke State University B.S. and 1974 East Carolina University M.A. ED.  He loved education, as he served as an educator for 32 years with the Public Schools of Robeson County.  He served as the best principal at Piney Grove Elementary School, wanting the best for his students and staff. He loved Mt. Airy Baptist Church and Jesus. As one of the elders, he worked diligently as the head of the educational building and Sunday School teacher, overseeing the construction of the new sanctuary and fellowship hall.  He also made sure Mt. Airy church looked it’s best.  Not only did he serve his community and church with honor, but he served his country, giving three years to the United States Air Force. After retirement, he found a love for gardening. On the weekends, he enjoyed cruising the country roads in his Mustangs.  In the afternoons, you could see him sitting under his tree. On Friday nights. He would faithfully take his wife out to eat.

Even until his last day, he still found a way to be the man in charge.  Mr. Grady will be truly missed.  We love you, Husband, Daddy and Pa.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Mt. Airy Baptist Church.

I am sending my condolences to the family. I will miss him along with his knowledge. I enjoyed working along with him and others on the sign for the Burnt Swamp Baptist. I learned a lot of the church histories that I did not know. He took a lot of historical knowledge with him. May God Bless the family.
