Mr. David Malcolm Jones, Sr., 74, of Maxton was the son of the late Mr. Halbert Lyon Jones and Mrs. Julia Estella Hurley Jones born September 30, 1946 in Scotland County, North Carolina. He passed peacefully on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Regency Hospital in Florence, SC. He is preceded in death by a son: Mr. David Michael Jones and granddaughter: Katelyn Estella Jones.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2021 3 at Locklear & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Revs; Israel Branch and Vashon Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the McLean Family Cemetery.
Mr. David spending time with his family, being a mechanic, and drag racing which he was well known for.
Mr. David leaves to cherish his memory his wife: Mrs. Bessie Jones of the home; sons: Mr. Robert Locklear of Laurinburg; Mr. David Jones, Jr. (Alisha) of Maxton and Mr. Archie Jones (Lora) of Maxton; one daughter: Mrs. Donnie Locklear (Matt) of Maxton; brothers: Mr. Halbert Jones, Jr., Mr. Donnie Jones (Cletus), and Mr. James Jones; sisters: Mrs. Alice Leetta Russell (Johnny), Ms. Emily Craven and Mrs. Laura Haywood (Ricky); grandchildren; nieces and nephews and a host of loving family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Locklear & Son Funeral Home for a walk-through Visitation.
