Mr. David Allen Maynor, 77, of 8012 Hwy 72 West, was born April 28, 1948 to the late Mr. Clennie and Mrs. Stella Mae Jones Maynor. He departed this life on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Scotland Memorial Hospital. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 39 years: Mrs. Doris Day Jacobs Maynor; brother: Mr. Clayton Maynor; sisters: Ms. Lottie Ruth Locklear and Ms. Colleen Freeman.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Bear Swamp Baptist Church with the Revs: Dr. Tim Chavis and Dr. Michael Cummings officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Maynor leaves behind to cherish his memory: his children: Mrs. Nicky Bullard(Garret), Mr. Craig Maynor(Rebecca) and Mrs. Carrie Oxendine(Billy); nine grandchildren: Justin Bullard, LaGarren Bullard, Bradlon Bullard, Samatha Locklear, Mikeala Maynor, Chaska Maynor, William Oxendine, Alexus Oxendine and Holden Oxendine; eight great-grandchildren: Karson, Ford, Kollins, Clint, Clay, James, Jace and Celesta; a sister and a host of other family and friends.
Mr. David was a faithful member of Bear Swamp Baptist Church, where he served on the Deacon Board. He was a United States Army veteran and a member of the Robeson County Honor Guard, Lumbee Warriors Association and the VFW. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting, but above all, his greatest love was his Lord and Savior, whom he served faithfully throughout his life.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Bear Swamp Baptist Church.
