Mr. Curley “Peter” Locklear of 371 Haven Road was born October 10, 1945 in Robeson County to the late Mr. Curtis and Mrs. Adline Locklear and passed away Saturday, August 22, 2020 at South Eastern Regional Medical Center completing his journey of 74 years. Mr. Curley Locklear was the husband of the late Mrs. Reba Mae Locklear of 53 years. He is also preceded in death by two sisters: Ms. Minnie B. Locklear and Rena Beard; one brother: Mr. Tom Locklear.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2020 at Locklear & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donald Oxendine and Bro. Jeff Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the Bullard family cemetery.
He leaves to cherish his memories : three sons: Mr. Curley Locklear Jr. (Pamela) of Red Springs, Mr. Martin Dean Locklear, Mr. Shon Dale Locklear of Maxton; one daughter: Mrs. Melissa Ann Locklear (Ovie Lee) of Maxton, two brothers: Mr. Joseph “Tukie Bug” Locklear of Red Springs and Mr. Curtis “Little Richard” Locklear of Lumberton; six sisters: Ms. Linda Sencenbaugh of Red Springs. Ms. Venus Locklear of Red Spring; Ms. Alice Garby of Maxton, Maybell Locklear of Red Springs. Ms. Settles Oxendine of Red Springs, Ms. Gertrude Smith of Maxton and Ms. Adline “Little” Locklear of Red Spring; four grand kids: Ovie Lee Locklear III of Pembroke, David DeAngelo Fields, Haley Alexis and Nodeya Cole Locklear of the home; fourteen grandchildren; nine great grands; three special friends: Mr. Grady Lee Lowery, Ms. Winoma Strickland and Mr. Greg Woodard and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2020 at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
