Mr. John K. Lowery, 50, of 2012 Highway 710 North, Pembroke, NC, was born on May 31, 1974, and departed this life on Friday, June 7, 2024.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Bear Swamp Baptist Church with Revs: Tim Chavis and Lindbergh Chavis officiating. Burial will follow in the Gray Pond Baptist Church Cemetery. 9901 Stewartsville Cemetery Road, Laurinburg, NC 28352.
Mr. John K. was survived by his partner of more than 13 years: Ms. Jennifer Lowery; daughter: Miss Layken Elizabeth, 11, and a son: Master Leighton Asher, 6, of the home. He is also survived by his father: Mr. John Lewis Lowery, mother: Mrs. Jo Ann Chavis Lowery of Pembroke, NC; sister: Ms. Mary Revels, and brother (in-law): Mr. Mr. Mickey Revels of Saddletree, NC; a brother: Mr. Steve, of Washington, DC; his nieces and nephews: Kayla Oxendine, of Rowland, NC, Stinston Revels, of Pembroke, NC, Braydann Revels, of Saddletree, NC; and three great nephews: Ethan Chavis, Mylon Oxendine, and Asher Oxendine.
A lifelong chemist, John K. lived all of his life in Robeson County. He graduated as the valedictorian of the Purnell Swett High School, Class of 1992, and attended UNC Pembroke where he earned a bachelor’s of science in Chemistry and Physics. He worked as a Quality Scientist in the laboratory at Unilever in Raeford, NC. John K. was fortunate to have a career that aligned with his passion for science.
John K was an avid fan of the UNC-CH Basketball Program and the Dallas Cowboys Football Team. He was a doting, devoted father who lived for his children and was beloved by all who knew him. John K. will be deeply missed.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Bear Swamp Baptist Church.

John was a fine young man. He worked at my house during the time he worked with Spectrum. My attention was called to him by his beautiful smile and so respectful. Mr and Mrs Lowery you raised one nice son. I remember his first baby. He was so proud of his child.
