MS. HAZEL HUNT

Ms. Hazel Hunt, 87 of Pembroke, NC was born August 30, 1937 and took her last trip on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. She traveled to heaven where she will reside with Christ Jesus our Lord. She was preceded in death by her father: Mr. Thurman Locklear; her mother: Mrs. Velma Sampson Locklear; sisters: Ms. Alice Locklear and Mrs. Connie Locklear; brothers: Mr. Stacy Locklear, Mr. Thurman Locklear, Jr., Mr. James Arnold Locklear; brother-in-law: Mr. Rufus Smith, and a great-grandson: Lil Kenny Ray Brewer.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, November 3, 2024 at Harpers Ferry Baptist Church with Revs. Horace Oxendine, Lawrence Garner and Bro. Bill James Brewington officiating. Burial will follow in the Lumbee Memorial Gardens.

Ms. Hunt leaves behind to cherish her memories; three daughters: Mrs. Wanda Sue Brewer (Kenny), Mrs. Sherita Lynn Locklear (Dwayne “Hoss”) and Mrs. Amanda Gail Blue (Bobby); seven grandchildren: Auston Ray Brewer (Savanna), Leslie Aldelia Brewer, Michael Locklear, Joshua Dwayne Locklear, Logan Hazley Blue, Gabrielle Locklear (Kevin) and Jacob Blue; four great-grandchildren: Nathaniel Ray Brewer, Kennedy Rae Brewer, Sophia Locklear, and Sadie Locklear; two sisters: Ms. Helen Smith and Mrs. Mary Lois Callahan (Larry); two brothers: Mr. William Locklear (Elvera) and Mr. Joseph Locklear (Pam); three sisters-in-laws: Mrs. Betty Locklear, Mrs. Ruby Revels and Mrs. Brenda Locklear; one brother-in-law: Mr. Roye Locklear; a special caretaker and friend: Ms. Rubie Oxendine; a special and helpful niece: Mrs. Shelena Smith (Steven) and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Harpers Ferry Baptist Church.

    I pray that Gods caring and comforting presence will help console the family of Ms. Hazel Hunt during this most difficult time, may the love and mercy of our Lord help to ease the pain of your loss.
