Ms. Cynthia Brooks Cox, known to most as Cindy, was born on February 9, 1954 and went home to be with the Lord on August 26, 2021 at the young age of 67. She now resides with her grandparents: Mr. Archie and Mrs. Sarah Jane Brooks; parents: Mr. Ernest and Mrs. Arrene Brooks; sister: Ms. Barbara Locklear; brother: Mr. Purnell Brooks; niece: Ms. Teresa Locklear and daughter: Ms. Tina Lynn Cox in heaven forever.
The graveside service will be 2 p.m. September 5, 2021 at White Hill Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Scottie Deal officiating.
She is survived by her son: Mr. Jay Cox; daughter in law: Mrs. Laura Locklear; 3 grandchildren Deston, Lauren, and Kara Cox from Charlotte; brothers: Mr. Archie Brooks and Mr. Terry Brooks, and a sister: Ms. Mitzi Brooks of Pembroke.
Ms. Cindy was born to parents Ernest and Arrene Brooks on February 9, 1954 in Laurinburg NC. She was the third oldest child out of 6 with 3 brothers and 2 sisters. She liked school and she would help with chores on the farm. As an adult she was a care provider for mentally disabled adults.
She will be truly missed.
The family will receive friends from 1-1:45 p.m. Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
