MRS. ILENE CHAVIS DIAL PEMBROKE, NC

     Mrs. Ilene Chavis Dial, 73, of 1685 Canal Road, Pembroke, was born February 23, 1947 and departed her earthly home Sunday, July 5, 2020, at home. She was preceded in death by her father: Mr. Robert L. Chavis and mother: Mrs. Lucy D. Chavis.

    The funeral will be 12 p.m. Thursday, July 9,2020 at Elrod Baptist Church with Revs. Gary Chavis and Larry Oxendine officiating. Face Masks are required and social distancing will be enforced. Burial will follow in the Elrod Baptist Church cemetery.

     Our mother was a beloved member of the Elrod Baptist Church for 45 years.

     Mrs. Dial is survived by her husband of 47 years: Mr. Bobbie Dial; four daughters: Ms. Mona Lisa of Pembroke, Ms. Marlita of Raleigh, Ms. Bobby Ann and Ms. Alfreida of Pembroke; nine grandchildren: Monica, Aaron and Morgan of Pembroke, Madison and Blake of Raleigh, Molly Ann and Lincoln of Pembroke, and Makayla and Will of Pembroke; seven great grandchildren; two brothers: Mr. Henry Clay Chavis (JoAnn) and Mr. Robert Earl Chavis (Jane) of Pembroke; Two sisters: Ms. Diane Jacobs and Mrs. Virginia Gale Strickland (Kenny) of Pembroke; a special niece: Ester Locklear of Pembroke; and a close friend: Mrs. Irene Kennedy of Ocean Isle Beach.

    The family will receive friends at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Elrod Baptist Church.

     Services entrusted to Locklear and Son Funeral Home.

    MAY GOD HOLD ALL OF YOU IN HIS HANDS…………”SISTER” WAS ALWAY’S A GOOD GIRL AND A AWESOME COUSIN……………I REMEMBER HER NEW RED MUSTANG WAY BACK ( 1966 I DO BELIEVE) AND RIDING TO SOUTH OF THE BORDER……WITH HER AND BARBARA JANE ……..I ALSO REMBER HER PRAYING AT ELROD CHURCH WHAT A TIME WE’VE HAD DOWN HERE……………I KNOW SHE IS WALKING THEM STREET’S OF GOLD WITH HER MA AND DAD AUNT IDA AND MY MA (GENEVA) HER AUNT BETTY LOIS TOO…………….THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE TO GREET HER THERE……..SHE WAS LOVED BY MANY………WE LOVE YOU ALL , GOD BLESS YOU.
