Mrs. Hilda Oxendine

Mrs. Hilda Oxendine, 71, of 4430 N Chicken Road, was born June 5, 1949 and departed this life on Friday, January 15, 2021 at her home surrounded by her children. She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years: Mr. Louie Oxendine; her parents: Mr. James B. and Ms. Annie Ruth Locklear; a sister: Ms. Angelina Locklear-Taylor; a brother: Mr. James B. Locklear, Jr.; and two great-grandchildren: Miracle Locklear and Louie Jesus Jenkins.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Mt. Airy Baptist Church with Revs. Dr. Mike Cummings and Kelvin Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Airy Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Oxendine is survived by one son: Mr. Donald G. Oxendine (Sondra); three daughters: Ms. Pamela K. Oxendine, Ms. Kamelia F. Oxendine and Ms. Tamara A. Oxendine; son-in-law: Mr. Kevin J. Hunt; two brothers: Mr. Dexter Locklear and Mr. R.D. Locklear III; three sisters: Ms. Linda Dinkins, Mrs. Vera Lindsey, and Ms. Evangeline Locklear; grandchildren: Garret A. Locklear (Elisha), Gene A. Oxendine, Gabriel A. Locklear, Clarise L. Bolano-Oxendine, Joseph L. Bolano, Kegan Hunt, Taylor Shane Hunt, Kylan J. Hunt, Trinston L. Hunt; great-grandchildren: Gakiyah A. Locklear, Lilyana Locklear, Genesis A. Locklear, Maggie Ada Locklear, Jocelyn S. Oxendine, Aiden Morales-Bolano, Sadaydrein N. Jacobs, Carlos Ronte Jenkins, Jr. and Novah Kehlani Hunt; special friends: Mr. Chris Haywood, Ms. Ethel Patrick, Ms. Annie Gavin, Ms. Ludaliah Cummings and Mr. Terry Emanual; and a host relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Mt. Airy Baptist Church.
