Mrs. Dorothy Locklear Clark

Mrs. Dorothy Locklear Clark, 106 years old, entered her heavenly home, at Prather’s Family Care where she resided and loved, on Friday, September 25, 2020.   She was born January 19, 1914 in Robeson County, North Carolina to the late Mr. Lunnie and Mrs. Matilda Locklear.  She was the last survivor of her four siblings.

Mrs. Dorothy met and married Mr. Cyrus Vic Clark and moved to Arnold, Nebraska in 1943.  Mrs. Dorothy dedicated her life to the Lord at Union Chapel Holiness Methodist Church where she became a member.  She enjoyed seek-n-find books and watching westerns.

Mrs. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband: Mr. Cyrus Vic Clark, one son: Mr. Bill Clark; one brother:  Mr. Lonnie Locklear; three sisters: Ms. Winnie Berry, Ms. Deborah Revels and Ms. Margie Locklear.

She is survived by her grandson: Mr. B. J. Clark, a special niece, raised as sisters: Ms. Willie Ree Chavis, and one nephew: Mr. Bobby W. Revels; many great-nieces and great-nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.

On behalf of Mrs. Dorothy’s family, we extend our heartfelt appreciation and love to all the staff of Prather’s Home Care, located in Red Springs, North Carolina, and special thanks to her two special caregivers, whom she loved as daughters, Ms. Hattie Locklear and Ms. Linda Cooper.

The funeral will be 3:00 p.m. Monday, September 28, 2020, at Locklear & Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs: Anthony Chavis, Dufrene Cummings and Bob Locklear and Bro. Chris Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Oxendine Cemetery, Oak Grove Church Rd. Pembroke,NC.

    I’m so sorry for your loss. May the God of all comfort help you during this difficult time. (2 Corinthians 1:3,4 & Psalms 83:18). Jesus prayed for God’s Kingdom to come because He knew it would intervene to solve all mankind’s problems even sickness and death. (Revelation 21:3-5 & Daniel 2:44).
