Mrs. Debbie Locklear, 60, of Pembroke departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at UNC Hospital in Lumberton. She was born October 1, 1962 to the late Mr. Bill Buck Locklear and Ms. Odessa Locklear; one sister and three brothers.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Mt. Airy Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Strickland, Dr. Michael Cummings, Kelvin Locklear and Adrian Hammonds officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Debbie truly lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed chatting with her friends and family and spending time with her grandkids who she truly adored. She had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way.
She is survived by her husband: Mr. Archie Cummings; son: Mr. Frankie Locklear (Amberly); daughter; Ms. Courtney Locklear; three brothers: Mr. Wendell Locklear (Connie), Mr. Terry Locklear (Sally) and Mr. Darrell F. Locklear (Lynette); one sister: Ms. Clea Barton; six grandkids: John Jones, Orriah Locklear, Brayden Blue, Aniya Chavis, Coy A. Locklear, Buck Locklear; many special nieces who she loved dearly, special friends: Ms. Towanda Locklear, Mr. John Roth Locklear and a very special friend who she had come to love dearly: Ms. Rachel Bullard and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Mt. Airy Baptist Church Cemetery.

Debbie Lou was the best friend I ever had. We had been friends since Junior high school. I was lucky to be a part of her life an blessed that she was a part of mine. Rest in Peace my dear friend, gone but never forgotten.
